Monarch Nutrition and Wellness was started by Caroline Sullivan, MS, RD, CSSD, LD. Caroline is a Registered Dietitian with experience in nutrition counseling for eating disorders, diabetes, weight management, and sports nutrition. Caroline draws her experience from several outpatient settings including an intensive eating disorder treatment center. She holds a BS in Clinical Dietetics from the University of Oklahoma and an MS in Food Science from the University of Arkansas. Her experience also includes research at universities in Belgium, France, and Hungary.
Caroline, a certified sports dietitian, has served as team dietitian to several collegiate sports teams. She has served as dietitian for a Division I NCAA Ranked Top 20 women’s cross country team and a Division I NCAA Ranked Top 10 women’s tennis team. She has also counseled individually for basketball, tennis, football, track, and ultraendurance marathons. Caroline is passionate about teaching how to live a balanced, active life while having a healthy relationship with food.
Dan Kissinger, PhD, LPC, therapist for Monarch Nutrition and Wellness, is a Licensed Professional Counselor (AR), Counselor Educator, and Licensed Clinical Supervisor (AR). He received his graduate training in counseling at Clemson University and his doctorate in counselor education at the University of South Carolina. He also holds a master's degree in kinesiology and maintains an active research and counseling interest in the wellness of student-athletes and college students. Dr. Kissinger's work as a counselor educator involves educating and training master's and doctoral level counseling professionals. His clinical practice, grounded theoretically in the cognitive, systemic, and wellness traditions, includes work with individuals (adult & adolescents), groups, and couples across a broad range of mental health and relational issues. These include, but are not limited to the following concerns:
- Anxiety
- Depression (uni-polar/bi-polar)
- Body Image & Eating Disorders
- Grief & Loss (end of relationships, death, job loss)
- Parent/Child relationship
- Trauma related issues, including sexual/physical/verbal abuse
- Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgender
